3,100 acres in Rutland located between Stamford and Oakham. Celebrating its 30th birthday this year, Rutland Water was on top form in 2006 with a catch rate over the season of 3.3 per return and 60% of the fish weighing 2lbs or over. The fishery was voted best large stillwater by Todays Flyfisher magazine for 2006 and in 2007.
It is the venue for both the CEFF Loch-style National and the Ladies National Championships. The fishery is famous for its grown on fish and produces hundreds of trout of 4lb or more all grown on from 2lbs or under.
The Fishing Lodge and boat fleet are the largest and most modern in the UK with a £200K extension completed in July last year. The tackle shop is the best waterside shop for flyfishers in Europe and the superb bar and restaurant has been extended to 130 covers looking out over the reservoir.
